GRP Bunds

DKM Industrial manufactures reliable and cost effective GRP bunds for a variety of applications in various plants across South Africa. Our bunds are used to create a retaining wall around a unit such as a GRP Storage/Process Tank where chemical/corrosive substances are handled, processed or stored for the process of containing any unintended spillage of the substance. We fabricate our bunds from a range of resins, all dependent on the environment it will be exposed to. We design and manufacture to suit our clients exact specifications and site requirements. Bunds can be ribbed and flanged for extra support and increased strength. We can also fit nozzles and other accessories to the bund/bunds if required.

Advantages of using GRP bunds

Glass reinforced plastic is a fiber reinforced polymer or composite material that is made from plastic that has been reinforced with fine fibers made from glass. There are many advantages to using GRP also known as fibreglass as your material of choice for a bund. Below we will list a few reason why GRP should be your material of choice:

Low weight: GRP as a material is low in weight. This makes our bunds a lot easier to work with and means that great weight savings can be achieved on a finished product.

Strength: GRP has a high strength to weight ratio, this means it is a lightweight material that is also super strong. Pound for pound GRP can be stronger than steel!

Chemical resistance: GRP can be resistant to aggressive chemicals, liquids and alkalis. This makes GRP bunds perfect for any application where there is a risk of corrosion.

Low maintenance: GRP is extremely durable and has a long life span
even in demanding conditions.

Easy to work with: GRP products can be easily installed on site, they can also be repaired, adjusted or altered quite easily.

Sustainability: Because of GRP’s durability there is very little to no maintenance required which makes GRP bunds a highly sustainable product.
