GRP Candle Filters/Mist Eliminators

GRP candle filters also known as mist eliminators are designed to remove the liquid droplets and solid particles from a gas stream and are regularly found in cooling towers, ventilation systems and air scrubbers. Our GRP candle filters/mist eliminators are made up of a number of layers of Chopped Strand Mat, Woven Roving, Vinyl Ester Resin, Tissue and threaded inserts for connection/bolting up requirements. Because of the Vinyl Ester Resin and Surface Tissue high anti-corrosive properties the filter/mist eliminator has a very high chemical resistance. The GRP candle filters/mist eliminators can be designed and to fabricated to our clients process requirements.

Why should GRP be your material of choice for a candle filter?

Using GRP as apposed to other materials increases the options of diameters and fibre bed density specifications to select from to achieve different efficiency/pressure loss and housing space requirements.

GRP is comprised of a vinyl ester resin matrix, to which continuous glass fibers have been added to provide structural reinforcement. GRP is widely used in various corrosion-resistant applications due to its low cost relative to other corrosion-resistant materials, it’s high resistance to chemical attack, high corrosion resistance properties, light weight, strength, flexibility, sustainability and load-bearing capabilities. The use of GRP for mist eliminator fabrication has followed from its success in other industrial applications.

GRP Candle Filters will help to remove visible plumes from stacks. In today’s times we have strict air pollution regulations in place, GRP Candle filters will help your plant meet those regulations by reducing the amount of air pollution your plant emits into the air. They also helps in the removal of pollutants which may cause corrosion further downstream resulting in costly premature replacement of equipment and maintenance down time. GRP Filters can also recover more lost products from processes.
